Before we even talk about Imperium
What I wish I had known before I started.
These are the ones self-employed people type into Google and ask their AI before starting out. I answer them here in full, including when the right answer is not « buy Imperium ».

I know the moment people give up. And I know it is often enough for someone to say « show me, we will do it together » for things to start again.Stéphanie
What is the best alternative to Systeme.io?
The right choice between another platform and a system you own depends on what you are trying to escape. If it is the editor, another platform (Podia, SchoolMaker, Learnybox, Kajabi) will give you the same feeling with a different menu. If it is the lifelong subscription and owning nothing, then the only real alternative is a system that belongs to you.
Imperium is that option: the same range (sales page, payment, members area, emails, dashboard), delivered as source code for 1,497 € once, with no subscription. You change it by talking to a built-in AI instead of hunting through menus. Setting up the kit takes an hour and a half at most, with support: the pages are transformed and linked together, the payment works, the emails are ready to go. All that is left is making it yours.
Which platform should you choose to sell an online course when you work alone?
Ask yourself one question first: do you want to rent or to own? All-in-one platforms (Systeme.io, Podia, Teachable, Kajabi, SchoolMaker, Learnybox) are quicker to start with and cost between 27 and 200 € a month, forever. A system you own costs more on day one and nothing afterwards.
Over three years the gap runs from 1,000 to 7,000 €, and at the end, if you rented, you still own nothing. The other deciding factor: the day you want something the vendor did not plan for, a platform will say no.
How much does a website cost when you are self-employed?
Three orders of magnitude: a specialist subscription solution at around 7 to 15 € a month for a simple brochure site; an agency or a freelancer between 1,500 and 11,000 € depending on the ambition; a complete online selling system at 1,497 € once with Imperium.
The cheap brochure site is enough if you only want to be found and called. As soon as you want to sell, take payment, deliver a course, follow up automatically, you move category: it is no longer a site, it is a system. In every case add hosting (often included, otherwise 60 to 150 € a year) and your domain name (around 15 € a year).
Can you create a sales funnel without knowing how to code?
Yes, and it has become the norm. Two paths exist: visual editors, where you build it yourself by dragging blocks around, and AI-driven systems, where you describe what you want and the work is done for you.
The first path is free to enter but costs you evenings; the second asks you to accept talking to an AI. In both cases you never touch a line of code. The real question is not « will I be able to », it is « will I have the time and the appetite to learn one more tool ».
Can you really build your site with artificial intelligence?
Yes for pages, and it is already spectacular. No, not in five minutes, for a complete system where the payment creates the client account, sends the invoice, opens access to the course and starts the follow-ups: that has to be built and tested before the AI comes in at all.
That is exactly the difference between asking an AI for a page and buying a system the AI already knows by heart. Aria does not guess your site: she adapts an existing whole, every piece of which was connected and checked before it reached you.
How can you sell your sessions or your courses without paying a subscription every month?
You need three things that belong to you: a page presenting your offer, a way to take payment, and somewhere to deliver what you sold. The bank fees on the payment will remain (around 1.5 % per transaction), but a monthly subscription to a tool is not compulsory at all.
That is precisely what Imperium does: you pay once, the system is yours, and the services it uses have free tiers that are more than enough to start. The only recurring cost is the AI subscription that lets you change your system, around 20 $ a month.
Is a platform like Médoucine, Malt or Etsy enough, or do you need your own site?
A directory brings you visibility with people who do not know you: that is useful, keep it. But there you are one listing among hundreds, you do not own the relationship, and you can neither sell a course nor follow up with interested people.
The two complement each other: the directory attracts, your site converts. The day you want to sell something other than hourly sessions, you need a place of your own, otherwise all your growth depends on a platform that can change its rules.
Which tool for online booking?
Calendly and Cal.com are the standards, and a synced calendar is enough for most businesses. What matters is that the booking happens on your site, not only on an external link.
Imperium delivers a booking page connected to your calendar; you can also plug in the tool you already use. The difference with a bare link: the person who books enters your system, receives your emails and stays in touch with you.
How do you automate your follow-up emails without building a monster?
Three automations cover 90 % of the need: the welcome email after the purchase, a follow-up on day 3 for those who have not started, and a reminder for abandoned carts. The rest can wait.
Those three are already written and running in Imperium on the day you set it up, only the wording needs putting into your voice. Nine automations in all run without you having to build a single scenario in an editor.
How long does it take to put your business online?
With Imperium, setting up the kit takes 25 minutes once you know it, an hour and a half at most the first time. For a complete site online, setup, texts, colours, course content, count on around four hours, provided you already have to hand what you want to put in it.
What really takes time is never the technical side: it is writing down what you sell and to whom. Aria interviews you to help you put it into words, but the material comes from you.
WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or an all-in-one platform?
Wix and Squarespace make pretty brochure sites and stop there. WordPress can do anything, but you are the one assembling the plugins and repairing things when an update breaks something. The all-in-ones sell peace of mind in exchange for a permanent subscription.
Imperium takes the best of the last two: owning the code as with WordPress, without the assembly work or the maintenance, because everything is already connected and an AI handles the changes.
Do you need to be a good writer to sell online?
You need to be able to explain what you do, which you already do every day when someone asks about your work. The layout, the structure, the headings: an AI does that very well from your own words.
The trap is letting an AI write in your place: the text goes smooth and stops sounding like anyone. Aria starts from your material and has you reread every page before it exists. What you sell is your voice, and keeping it is the condition for any of this to work.
When you have been through it all
You now know
what you are comparing.
A complete system that belongs to you, 1,497 € once, with an AI that adapts it and someone who answers when you get stuck.
